Less Is More Acetate :/

I work every Saturday and round about 11.30am I can be found in the staffroom on my break trying to find out what the new LIM challenge is. Last Saturday you may have even heard a little groan when the post came up on my phone and said "Acetate".

I have totally racked my brain as what to do for this challenge knowing that somewhere deep in and amongst all my stash there was a wad of acetate that I bought years ago then never actually used (as per usual!)

I then remembered I had bought some 'Mini Me World' Forever Friends stickers from The Range that are sort of like acetate and decided I could use them both.

It has taken three attempts, two attempts chucked out after they went wrong but this one will have to do lol as I'm yet to start my assignments as Iv been too busy playing!!!
So I used my circle nesties and made an aperture card. I cut out a circle of acetate and attached it to the inside of the card blank and very carefully stuck on my little bear.
A little close up of the little bear. He looks like he's floating from afar!

I used the little stickers that came on the sheet to decorate around the outside to give it a bit of colour and hand stamped the greeting directly onto the finished card (I found my fine liner pen woop woop so am much more confident at doing this!!)

I'm glad I have made this even though Im not very keen on it as I may have found a use for all the acetate I have lol . I bought a few of those stickers so have plenty of different designs to use!

Right so I MUST start these assignments!! I'm sure Ill be back soon though lol!

Happy Birthday Easel

Hi all!

I decided to join in with this weeks LOTV challenge as I haven't entered in a while and decided to do something a little bit different with my card blank. I googled 'easy easel card' a few weeks a go and a YouTube video came up with a quick easel card so thought Id give it a go. And this is what I came up with:

The photos aren't that great despite all of the sun!!

I'm quite impressed with myself lol! All I did was fold one side of my 6 by 6 card blank in half and et voila lol!
This is what I used:
  • LOTV Rosie with Presents stamp
  • LOTV circle sentiment stamp
  • K+Co Sparkly Sweet paper pad (I LOVE this pad!! I haven't been able to buy it anywhere then LOTV were selling it at their stand at the GNPE - how pleased was I lol!!)
  • Promarkers
  • MS small butterfly punch
  • Crystal Stickles
  • Tiny flat backed pearls
  • Circle and scalloped nesties
  • The new label nesties
  • Papermania Pearl Brads
  • Papermania paper flowers
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Now to get on with the dreaded assignments before I run out of time like usual!!!
Hope everyone is well :)

Forever Friends Fortnight Sketch

Hellooooo everyone!

Im back with another DT creation for Forever Friends Fortnight challenge (I still cant believe I'm on a DT!! Thanks again Sande!!)

This week we are sponsored by Crafts U Love and they have kindly donated a  £15 voucher!
They carry a great range of Forever Friends products as well as lots of other craft goodies :)

The challenge is a sketch by Sande and here it is

And this is what I came up with

I really really don't like it :( for one I have no idea why I went with green (its not as dark IRL btw!) and two its faaaar too big, should have used a 5 by 5 instead of 6.
Oh well cant win them all I suppose.
All the elements, except the roses which are from Wild Orchid Crafts that have been coloured with a promarker and stickled, are from the Forever Friends Springtime collection.
The bear and duck are decoupaged up and add an extra bit of dimension.

I am proud of myself for sticking to the sketch tho lol. I sometimes get stuck when using sketches and end up doing my own thing but this sketch was really nice to work with!
So if you join in with us this fortnight you have the chance to win a fab prize from
Head on over to Forever Friends now and check out the rest of the fabulous work by our DT :)
Thanks for looking and thanks for all the comments Ive been getting recently - they really make me smile! I appreciate every one!

Less is more?!

I think I may have made something that I can FINALLY enter into the Less is More challenge.
This weeks theme is a one layer card with a focus on the sentiment.

Now I freaked when I saw this last Saturday because I have nooo big sentiment stamps and have never ever made a one layer card!!!

It took a while to come up with something but I eventually remembered I had picked up a freebie digi kit called Life's Lemons from Pink Petticoat when I first discovered them a while ago (which I think you can still download if you have a rummage around!).

I remembered it had a great sentiment 'When life hand you lemons' and some lovely coordinating papers.

So I decided to go for a 5 by 5 inch square card and placed the big sentiment in the middle.I then chose one of the papers from the kits and placed it behind the sentiment.
To make the thin border I placed a white square behind the sentiment until it was the perfect size. I then cut a a lemon slice topper from the topper sheet and placed it in the bottom right hand corner. This gave me the most trouble because I know it will come as a shock but I am still using Microsoft Publisher as my graphics programme lol and have decided that it is rubbish because I couldn't get it to go where I wanted!! Any suggestions of a decent graphic programme that it easy to use? My problem is that I don't have much time to play around with a new graphics programme and am quite impatient sometimes lol hence why Iv stuck with Publisher.

Anyway....... I coloured in the word 'lemons' with my Buttercup Promarker (as the letters were white in the middle) and added some Crystal stickles then decided to finish the sentiment off on the inside of the card with.....

I think its quite amusing lol and not what you really expect!

Right well I have gone on for long enough. I'm on Easter hols for the next two weeks but have a few mega assignments that need to be done before I go back to school.

I hope my first attempt is OK?? Hope you're all well!

Too late!!!

Eeeee honestly what am I like! Ive been following the Less is More challenge blog since I saw Rachel's first entry 9 weeks ago and Iv been dying to join in since. Now I must admit I got through a few half failed attempts nearly every challenge but have persisted lol. I am soo not used to the whole less is more/clean and simple style so it was quite a challenge to create something.
I did eventually make something half decent and then ended up getting in late from school last Friday and missed the upload deadline! Gutted lol.

I used the same stamp that I did on my notebook (last post) coloured with PM's and the green paper is from the Forever Friends Springtime pad.

I flocked up his ears because you know bunnies are supposed to be furry lol. I then very bravely stamped the greeting straight onto the finished card - not sure if I should have tho cos its a bit smudgy but its done now so tough lol.

Right well I have still found a few challenges that I would like to enter this card into :
So I must try harder this week!! I suppose I should go off and attempt to make something now!!

                                                       Hope youre all well!

First ever DT creation!!

Hi everyone!

Hows everyone doing? Today is a special post as I am soooo pleased to announce that I am now part of the Forever Friends Challenge Fortnightly Design Team!! Woop woop!

I am sooo pleased and grateful to be given the chance to be on this fantastic design team. So onto my DT duties lol. This fortnights challenge is

                                              "Anything but a card"

Now I must admit this scared me slightly but when I was tidying I came across some little photo album notebooks that I bought ages and ages ago and have never got round to using. So thought Id give making a little front cover a go and here it is...

I have used one of the Forever Friends Easter stamps and coloured him in with my Promarkers. The backing paper is from my all time favourite craft company for paper - Doodlebug.

Every year on Easter Sunday our family have an egg hunt. It is hilarious lol. My Mam, Gran and Aunt buy over 300 little chocolate eggs and hide them around my Auntie's back garden. Then me, my sister, my boyfriend, my cousin and my two step brothers spend most of the afternoon running around looking for them! Its hilarious watching us all act like kids again considering I'm 22 and my boyfriend is 28 and sister is 19! We always take loads of photos so Ill be putting them all in here and will show you when its full!

I do hope you can join in with us this fortnight and be in with the chance of winning a fab prize from I am Roses!

Must dash but must also say a big thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me the other day as placement was better towards the end of the week and R.E was really good! One week left till the Easter hols and I cant wait for a lie in lol.

Speak soooooon!
